Aselia Urmanbetova is a Research Scientist in the School of Economics. Aselia obtained her Ph.D. in the School of Public Policy at Georgia Institute of Technology and M.S. degrees in Economics and International Relations. Her research areas include industry studies, environmental policy, economic development, and transportation economics. She has publications on the pulp and paper industry, U.S. manufacturing technology, and the role of education in China's economic development. Her current research focuses on environmental compliance of capital intensive industries, firm pollution practicies, and the cost-effectiveness of state public transit systems.
